Green Ass Spinner

Catchy name right? This was basically tied just for fun, but this pattern produced very well for me in the early Autumn for 2018, particularly on grayling, but also on still water trout. The "Green ass", or butt if you will, is ment to imitate the eggs pouring out of the female mayfly spinner, but it also seemed to catch some attention with the fishes.


Hook: Standard dryfly hook size 12 and smaller Tail: Coq de Leon medium pardo Butt: Fly-Rite No. 24: Tiny Blue Wing Olive, or other intense colors of green or chartreuse Abdomen: Stripped peacock quill Thorax: Peacock herl Hackle: Brown
