Ostara's Fly

Great little dun imitation. It's not meant to imitate any specific specie, but can instead be a good representation of several kinds. The winging technique is the same as on the Ginger Dun.



Ostara's Fly

Hook: Standard dry fly hook size 14 to 18

Thread: Tan

Wings: Blue dun hackle-tips

Tail: Specled Ginger Coq de Leon, 6 to 10 fibers at most Ribbing: Mahogany brown sewing thread

Body: The tan underfur of a weasel's tail

Hackle: 3 turns of a rooster hackle, dark dun in color

Thorax: Peacock herl
