The Silverfish is a brilliant pattern for clear water rivers, and can be the one to do the trick later in the season on low water and the salmon is more easily spooked. The wing is of the same material as the classic Rusty Rat, but I have chosen to keep most of the underfur to create more motion in the water.

Silverfish

Hook: Single salmon, size 2 - 8

Thread: Black Tag: Flat silver tinsel

Tail: Yellow rump feather of Golden Pheasant Butt: Scarlet mohair (or sealsfur)

Body: Flat sliver tinsel

Hackle: Sky blue

Wing: Grey fox, both underfur and guard hair, and two strands of pearl flash
